This beautiful stone villa is found within the estate of one of the most prominent and historic families in Tuscany. The origins of the house date back to the 14th century, when the tower, the central part of the house, was built as an external defence of the city. Its colourful and interesting history includes being owned by a Grandmaster of the Knights of Malta and later, in 1868, as the birthplace of Paolino Tribbioli, a prominent Catholic clergyman who played a key role in bringing the Catholic Church to India. The current owners bought the villa after falling completely in love with it, renovating it in 2017 to create a luxury holiday villa.
The interior is beautifully furnished, yet simple, maintaining some of the original features of the house as well as various antique pieces. The ground floor is made using the original clay and marble tiles, and wooden ceiling beams are exposed throughout. Cosy up with a good book and a glass of wine in the sitting room, in front of the antique fireplace. Upstairs, the bedrooms spacious and comfortable bedrooms are all equipped with AC, and the bathrooms are decorated in with travertine tiles, stone sinks and high-quality fittings. One of them has a free-standing tub as well.
